Server rules

A good place to play: what we expect from everyone on Truckmania.

The Truckmania approach

01
Semi-serious trucking RP

Truckmania is a semi-serious trucking RP server focused on jobs, progression, player interaction and organized crime. Roleplay is expected, but gameplay remains accessible and fun.

02
Believable actions, not realistic bureaucracy

Do what a person in your character's position could believably do. You do not need paperwork, scripted dialogue, a /me for every movement or anyone's permission to haul a load, fix a truck or run a deal. Add detail when it makes the scene better, not because a rule demands it.

03
Common sense comes first

No list covers everything. If something would only make sense as a way to win, or would spoil the session for the people around you, do not do it. The spirit of these rules counts for more than their wording. Staff apply this by intent, impact and precedent, not personal taste.

Playing together

04
Respect everyone

No harassment, hate speech or discrimination, in character or out of character. A hostile character is fine; making the player behind it miserable is not.

05
Stay in character around others

When other players are involved, speak and act as your character and give them time to respond. A quick OOC question is fine. Do not stop a scene to argue rules or go OOC to dodge a consequence.

06
Use what your character knows

Your character only knows what they personally saw, heard or were told in the city. Streams, Discord, another character you own or information learned while out of character cannot be used in an active situation (metagaming). You may use OOC communication to arrange normal gameplay, such as deciding to meet or play together, but you may not use it to share live locations, warn someone about police, call backup during a robbery or otherwise gain an advantage in an ongoing scene.

07
Give others a fair chance

Do not invent abilities, decide another character's actions or declare an outcome they cannot answer (powergaming). Use the mechanics the server gives you and leave room for resistance, escape and failure, including your own.

08
Keep voice usable

Do not mic spam, blast soundboards, scream continuously or play excessively loud audio around other players. Voice effects are fine when they fit the character and do not make normal interaction impossible.

Roads & work

09
Drive like the truck is yours

Speeding, shortcuts, crashes and chases are part of the road. Ramming for fun, impossible stunts or deliberately using a vehicle to harm players without a believable reason is VDM. Vehicle contact may happen during pursuits, robberies or other active conflicts when it makes sense, but repeatedly using vehicles purely to disable or kill someone is not acceptable. Drive like someone who wants both themselves and their vehicle to survive.

10
Let people work

Competition and cargo theft create RP. Camping job starts, blocking delivery points or hunting the same worker over and over just to stop their progress is griefing.

11
Vehicle theft should have a purpose

Stealing another player's vehicle or work truck must have an in-character reason. Do not repeatedly steal unattended work vehicles, dump them somewhere or interfere with jobs simply because the game allows it.

12
Keep work simple

Jobs are meant to be played, not administered. Do not demand forms, inspections or approval from other players that the job itself does not ask for. A short, in-character exchange is enough.

Crime & conflict

13
Give conflict a reason

Threats, robbery and violence need an in-character motive and a build-up that fits it. Let the other side understand what is happening and react. Attacking at random (RDM) or killing over a minor insult is not allowed.

14
Don't bait emergency services

Do not intentionally provoke police, mechanics or other service roles purely to create a chase, fight or reaction. If you create trouble, there should be an actual in-character objective behind it.

15
Value your life

React believably to weapons, injuries and bad odds. Take an escape or fight back when there is a real opening; do not ignore a gun in your face because you would rather not lose.

16
Make crime about people

Organized crime should produce deals, rivalries, risk and consequences, not just loot. Keep demands to what can be handed over through game mechanics. Never force account access, OOC payment or permanent character death, and do not rob the same person repeatedly to drain their progress.

17
Accept the outcome

Losing cargo, getting caught and needing help are part of play. After respawning, do not return to the same fight or take revenge for that death (new life rule). Being revived does not reset the scene: you are still hurt, so play it.

Fair play & resolving problems

18
Earn your progress fairly

No cheats, automation that plays for you, duplication or deliberate bug abuse. Running into a bug by accident is not an offence; continuing to use it is. Stop and report it to staff.

19
No real-money trading

In-game money, items, vehicles and services may not be sold or traded for real money or anything outside the game. The Shop is the only place real money is involved.

20
Finish active situations

Do not disconnect, respawn or use menus, garages or job changes to escape a robbery, chase or other active scene. If you crash or have to leave, reconnect as soon as reasonably possible and let the others or staff know.

21
Resolve disputes calmly

Play the scene out, then report it with context or a clip. Staff look at intent, impact and repetition: guidance for honest mistakes, firmer action for deliberate abuse. Looking for loopholes to spoil someone's play counts as abuse.
